Terms of use

Last updated: 20 October 2026

We’ve tried to keep these clear. If something doesn’t make sense, ask us at hola@pista.one. This is an English translation; if the two versions ever differ, the Spanish version prevails.

1. Who provides the service

Pista is a dating app for iPhone, with its website pista.one, provided by:

Provider
Manuel Sampedro Pérez, an individual and the developer of Pista
Tax ID (NIF)
49573698G
Address
Calle Serrano 61, 28006 Madrid, Spain
Email
hola@pista.one

These details are also provided for the purposes of Spain’s Law 34/2002 on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI).

2. Acceptance

By creating an account you accept these terms and the community guidelines, and confirm you’ve read the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Pista.

3. Eligibility

To use Pista you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be able to enter into a binding contract under the law that applies to you.
  • Not have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence.
  • Not have been banned from Pista before.
  • Use the app for yourself, with a single personal account.

4. Your account

You sign up with Sign in with Apple and verify a mobile number with a code by text message. Each number works for one account only. You’re responsible for keeping your iPhone and Apple account secure, and for what happens through your Pista account. If you think someone has got into it, let us know.

Pista opens city by city, in groups. Until your city or group is open, your profile is saved, nobody sees it and you’ll see your place on the waitlist.

Your profile information has to be real and about you. That includes your age, your photos and your sporting level.

5. What Pista is

Pista lets you create a profile, see other people’s profiles, send likes, chat when you match and suggest dates with a sport, a place and a time.

We can’t promise you matches, dates or that a particular person will reply. We’ll keep improving the app and may change, add or remove features. If a change significantly affects something you’ve paid for, we’ll tell you in advance.

We do our best to keep Pista running, but there may be downtime for maintenance, technical faults or reasons beyond our control.

6. Rules of conduct

You must follow the community guidelines. In short, you can’t:

  • Harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone.
  • Post sexually explicit, violent, hateful or illegal content.
  • Upload photos of other people without their permission, of minors, or that aren’t yours.
  • Pretend to be someone else or lie about your age.
  • Use Pista to sell, promote, ask for money or spam.
  • Suggest dates in places that aren’t public or open to the public.
  • Access Pista with bots, scripts or any automated means, scrape other people’s data or try to get around our security measures.

7. Your content

What you upload to Pista (photos, text, answers, messages, dates) is still yours. So the app can work, you give us a non-exclusive, free, worldwide licence limited to providing the service: storing it, adapting it (for example, cropping or compressing photos) and showing it to other users according to your settings.

We don’t use your content in advertising and we don’t sell it. The licence ends when you delete that content or your account, except for backups until they’re deleted and anything we have to keep by law. Messages you’ve already sent may have been read by the other person.

You confirm you have the right to post what you upload and that it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights.

8. Moderation and reports

You can report and block anyone from their profile or from the chat. We review reports and may hide or remove content, limit features, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, or that put other people at risk.

When we take action that affects you, we’ll tell you what we’ve done and why, unless the law prevents it or telling you would put someone at risk. If you think we’ve got it wrong, email hola@pista.one and we’ll look at it again.

Anyone, with or without an account, can tell us about illegal content on Pista by writing to the same address.

9. Meeting in person

Pista helps you meet people, but we don’t run background checks on anyone and we can’t guarantee the identity, intentions or behaviour of other users, in or outside the app.

When you meet someone, follow the tips for meeting up: public places, tell someone you trust, get there and back on your own. Sport comes with risks: train according to your level and your health.

Dates are organised by users, not by Pista. We’re not responsible for the venues, bookings or payments you agree between yourselves.

10. Pista+, Boosts and Aces

Pista is free to use. You can also buy, within the app:

  • Pista+, an auto-renewing subscription, for periods of one week, one month or three months.
  • Boosts, which put your profile among the first in your area for 30 minutes.
  • Aces, likes that arrive highlighted.

What each product includes and its price, taxes included, are shown in the app before you buy.

Billing and renewal

All purchases are charged by Apple to your Apple account when you confirm them, under the App Store terms. Pista+ renews automatically at the end of each period, for the same length and at the current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.

How to cancel

In iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Pista, or from your account in the App Store. You keep Pista+ until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Deleting your Pista account doesn’t cancel the subscription: you have to cancel it with Apple.

If we change the price of Pista+, Apple will let you know before the renewal and, where its rules or the law require it, ask you to accept the new price.

Refunds

As Apple is the seller, refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com and are governed by Apple’s terms. We can’t issue refunds directly.

Right of withdrawal

If you’re a consumer in the European Union, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. For App Store purchases, Apple handles this right under its own terms.

Pista+, Boosts and Aces are digital content and services that are activated as soon as you buy them. When you buy them you expressly ask for them to start straight away and accept that, once activated, you lose the right of withdrawal, as provided in Article 103 of Spain’s consolidated General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users. This doesn’t affect your rights if the product doesn’t work as it should.

Boosts and Aces

They’re single use, have no monetary value, can’t be exchanged for money or transferred to another account, and are lost if you delete your account. Free Aces or Boosts (for example, the weekly ones or those you earn with a streak) are given according to the rules shown in the app.

11. Waitlist, invites, ambassadors and founders

Waitlist

Joining the waitlist is free and gives you a place in your city’s queue. Your place is used to order the groups we let in; it isn’t a right to get in on a given date. Every person who joins with your link and confirms their email moves you both up, unless we see it’s the same person or the same connection. The access code we send you is personal, works once and expires.

Invites

Once you’re in, you get a number of invites each week (shown in the app). They renew on Mondays, don’t roll over, and each one expires a few days after it’s created if nobody uses it, which gives the slot back. Each invite works for one new person, who skips the waitlist.

When that person verifies their phone, completes their profile and stays on Pista for the days shown in the app, you both get the reward shown at that time (for example, a Boost, an Ace or extra likes). Rewards have no monetary value, can’t be exchanged for money or transferred, and we may change the amount for future invites.

Ambassadors

If you join with a Pista ambassador’s code or link, you go straight in and that ambassador may receive a commission from Pista. You pay nothing for it and the ambassador never sees your details. The ambassador terms are on a separate page.

Founders

The first complete profiles in each city get a founder number. It’s a badge, has no economic value, can’t be transferred and you lose it if you delete your account.

Abuse

If we spot abuse, such as fake or duplicate accounts, inviting yourself or deleting accounts to claim a reward again, we may hold or remove the rewards and close those accounts. When something looks suspicious, a person reviews it before deciding.

12. Intellectual property

The app, the website, the Pista brand, logo and design belong to us or are used under licence. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app under these terms. You may not copy it, modify it or try to extract its code, except where the law allows it.

13. Leaving, suspension and closure

You can delete your account whenever you like in Settings › Account › Delete account, or ask us by email. It’s explained on Delete your account.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the guidelines, if the law requires it or if your account puts other people at risk. If we close it for a serious breach, you won’t be entitled to a refund for the rest of the paid period, without prejudice to any rights the law gives you.

If we ever decide to shut Pista down, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice.

14. Liability

We’re responsible for providing the service with due care. We’re not responsible for:

  • What other users do, say or post, in or outside the app.
  • What happens on the dates and meet-ups you organise between yourselves.
  • Damage caused by using Pista against these terms.
  • Interruptions or faults caused by third parties or by force majeure.

None of this limits our liability where the law doesn’t allow it, in particular for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for harm to life or health, or the rights consumer law gives you, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services.

15. Changes to these terms

If we make significant changes to these terms, we’ll let you know in the app at least 15 days in advance. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account before they come into force. Minor changes, such as wording fixes, apply when published.

16. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you’re a consumer, you can bring a claim before the courts where you live. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection given by the mandatory rules of your country.

Before going to court, write to us: most things get sorted by talking. You can also contact the consumer services of your region.

If any clause is found to be invalid, the rest remain in force.

17. Contact

For anything about these terms, email us at hola@pista.one.
